We are proud to offer the following scholarships:
1. D. Suzanne Raines Young Pianist, Ages 12-15
2. Marjorie Trotter Memorial Scholarship, Ages 16-22, Piano and Strings
3. Sampley-Conn Award, Ages 16-22, Strings
This award was established by Violet Lang, Past President of OFMC, to honor the memory of her mother and accomplished violinist, Mrs. Sampley, and in honor of Mrs. Lang's long-time friend, Margaret Conn. Margaret Conn was a violinist and piano/violin teacher in Beaverton for many years. Mrs. Conn was a Past President of OFMC, holding many positions in her Senior Clubs, in OFMC and NFMC. One position Mrs. Conn held for multiple years was Festival Chairman for OFMC.
4. Louis and Violet Lang Memorial Opera, Ages 16-18 High-School and College ages 18-20
Violet Lang established a scholarship at OFMC and NFMC, the Louis and Violet Lang Opera Scholarship, for a student studying for a career in opera. Mrs. Lang served in many positions in her club, the Monday Musical Club of Portland, as well as positions in OFMC. When Oregon hosted the national convention in Portland in 1979 Mrs. Lang chaired the publicity committee and there was wonderful coverage in the Oregonian newspaper and on local radio. Both Louis and Violet Lang were very interested in supporting young people in their quest of good musical training.
5. Pauline Eidemiller Award, Piano
For High-School ages 14-18 who have completed four years of NFMC Festival.
6. Lucille Pulliam~ Harp, High-School ages 16 and higher
