Please read below to help guide you through the membership process.
It is important to get a basic understanding of who we are and how our membership is structured.
Four Important Steps to Membership
1- Understanding Federated Membership Structure
NFMC=National Federation of Music Clubs OFMC=Oregon Federation of Music Clubs
OFMC is our State Organization. Our function is to comply with NFMC objectives, and to provide opportunities for advancement of music and American Composers by providing access to Federated programs to our members in the community-at-large. As stated on our Home Page, we are dedicated to finding and encouraging musical talent through annual Federated Music Festivals and the awarding of state scholarships in piano, strings, harp and voice.
Senior Clubs- A Senior Club is a group of members who are organized primarily by location across the state. When you join Federation, you will process your membership though a Senior Club in your area. You are then considered to be a Senior Club Member. Senior Clubs are primarily teachers, but you are not required to be a teacher in order to join. Senior Clubs may also hold their own objectives-- i.e., provide workshops, concerts, or additional programs for their members.
Junior Clubs- A Junior Club is simply the body of students in your studio who are under 19 years old. When you join Federation, these students are then considered "Junior Members" and are eligible to participate in all Federated programs through your membership. A portion of your dues is based on the number of students in your studio. You are not required to have students in order to join Federated. However, if you intend to enter students in any OFMC or NFMC event, then you must join as a Senior and Junior Club member.
2- Following Membership Deadlines
As stated above, October 15 is the deadline for all renewing memberships. Late fees may be applied after October 15th.
All membership dues are valid through June 30th of the following year.

3- Contact Our State Membership Secretary if you are a new member
Your next step to becoming a member is to contact our Membership Secretary, Jerry Crosby (jerrycrosby@gmail.com). He will explain the dues and basic membership structure, and help you determine which Senior Club you should join.

4- Make Contact With A Senior Club
Once you determine which Senior Club to join, it's important to make a connection with that group of teachers. Make sure they have your contact information and follow up with them to be sure you've been added to their membership roster and email lists.

Here are some other membership scenarios that are less common:
You would like to join Federation, but do not teach and do not intend to enter students in any Federated Events
You must join a local area Senior Club, and pay only the Senior Club portion of the dues. You are not required to pay Junior Club dues in this scenario.
If you are under 19 and you wish to join Federation, and you currently study with an Federated teacher
You are already a member. Your teacher’s OFMC membership covers all the students in his or her studio that are under 19.
*If you are under 19 and have your own students (your own Junior Club)*
You are required to join Federation and pay all local, state, and Junior Club dues in full.
If you are a College Student, at least 19 years old, and wish to join Federation so that you may be eligible for any Federated State (OFMC) or National (NFMC) scholarships
Determine whether your college or university is already a member for the current school year. If so, then you do not have to do anything further.
If your college or university is not already a member of Federation, then you may join as an Individual Member. Use form ME 1-1, and mail it to Jerry Crosby jerrycrosby@gmail.com.
If you are under 19 and wish to join Federation because your teacher is not a member: You may join as an Individual Member using form ME-1-1, but you are not allowed to participate in Festivals. To participate in Festivals, you are required be studying with a teacher who is already a member.
